This thesis is written from the perspective that the Shincheonji cult is not well understood in the western countries, and that much of the information available is in the Korean language.
The writer outlines the beliefs of the group and how it appears to be a christian organisation, however it uses practiced methods to infiltrate regular christian communities and induce their efforts to the aims of the cult.
The history of the cult leadership is given, which is difficult to find without understanding of Korean writings. "The influence of Shincheonji is very negative. Many Families have been broken, and her influence has also spread on college campuses to convince students that Shincheonji is [the] only way to get saved." p.112
And: "Shincheonji having failed to register as a non-profit religious organisation, has to disguises [sic] themselves as a normal church and carry out the illigitimate propagation activities which is interrupting a regular church in Korea." p.122
And: "Note the different spellings of the name of the group: Officially it is Shincheonji, Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (SCJ). Commonly referred to as Shincheonji, but the name is sometimes spelled without the 'e' -- Shinchonji."
This is a tertiary thesis and the reader can find the full text online for their own study and evaluation.
